PV Station Technical Description

Photovoltaic modules

Photovoltaic station Olympiaki Fotovoltaiki uses 570 high efficiency monocrystalline silicon modules SolarWorld Sunmodule 175mono,in total of 99,75kWp.

560 of the modules are placed in solar trackers in groups (strings) of 10 modules per tracker. There are also 10 modules that are placed on a fixed position steel base,

for comparison purposes in performance for the specific photovoltaic station.

Compa String Tracker 2

It is designed by Compa Solar and cooperators, manufactured by a plant located in the industrial zone of Sindos, Thessaloniki Greece. The tracker has been in test operation since March 2006 and in mass production since Jan 2008.

Central Inverters Fronius IG400

The 3 Fronius IG 400 inverters that were placed are of 35 kW power each and were connected to a local network along with the measurement units , the meteorological station , the sensors , the datalogger and the string controls. The data from the inverters are compared inter se continuously and along with the solar irradiance sensor measurements the software provides informative reports on the correct operation of the photovoltaic station. In case of fault the related tracker is located.

PV Station Security Sytem

The PV station is equipped with a security system that consists of:

  • Alarm system throughout the inverter housing building, the perimeter, and the tracker area.
  • Alarm system on each Tracker that detects the loss even of a single module.
  • Fire detection system in the building.
  • Surveillance and recording system through cameras.
  • Wireless LAN network for remote monitoring from the company offices.
